Featuring Roseworks Jewelry

Angeqlue Creations is a proud member of the Etsy Beadweavers Street Team and as a member I am starting a bi-monthly trend of featuring one new Etsy Street Team member.  The first to be featured is Ruthie Stickney of Roseworks Jewlry in Vancouver, Washington, USA.  http://www/roseworksjewelry.etsy.com. I live in Vancouver BC, Canada so it is appropriate that Ruthie, a fellow Vancouverite, is my first featured artist.

I asked Ruthie if there was any significance to the name of her shop and this was her reply "I have always loved Roses - and when we were little and my brothers and I would play "house" or other games where we would pretend to be other people I would usually choose the name Rose. So when I was trying to come up with a shop name...that's what I came up with."

Tell me a bit more about yourself? "I live in Vancouver, WA with my wonderful husband. I deal with health problems so jewelry has been my hobby that's helped me stay sane that I'm trying to turn into a viable business as my health slowly builds. I love to spend time with my family and friends, I love anything fantasy or SciFi related, I have Crafty ADD, and I love to read! "

When did you start beading and beadweaving?  "I started beading about 10 years ago. I first learned bead weaving about 3 or 4 years ago, and I really got serious about both about 2 years ago."

What inspires you? "Other artists, nature, but mostly, The wonderful beads themselves"

What is your favorite piece that you created either currently in you shop or one that you have sold? "I have a lot of pieces that I love - but this is one of my favorites! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31386230 I love it for many reasons. The design is an adaption that I came up with entirely on my own, and this particular one is made in my favorite color, purple! "

Do you belong to any organizations? "Oh my yes! Etsy Bead Weavers Street Team (EBW), Etsy Bloggers, Facebook Fans on Etsy (FFEST), Team Big Damn Crafters, and that's just the Etsy list."

Ruthie not only creates and sells jewelry to help out with her own medical problems, she also supports the homeless by sending "10% of all my proceeds are donated to a local homeless shelter called "Open House Ministries." To find out more about them check out their website at http://sheltered.org/"

I hope that you enjoyed learning a little about one of your fellow Etsy Beadweavers teammates and encourage you to check out Ruthie's shop http://www.roseworksjewelry.etsy.com/ as well as her other locations http://www.roseworksjewelry.blogspot.com/
